《Pokémon GO》近期為了慶祝 10 周年在美國紐約時代廣場舉辦慶典活動，重現 2016 年遊戲最初預告片中玩家共同對抗超夢的經典場景，吸引了超過 2,000 名玩家與創作者到現場共襄盛舉，然而就在活動結束後卻因為獎勵機制不公平引起不小的爭議。
「Pokémon GO Fest 2026」是由官方透過紐約市各區的社群大使發放邀請函，藉此將現場人數控制在 2,000 左右以防過度擁擠的狀況發生，不過後續卻傳出只要是在現場獲得邀請的玩家，在完成團體戰後就可獲得一隻 100 IV 且帶有紐約時代廣場背卡的超夢。

消息傳出後，玩家們紛紛湧入官方社群帳號留言痛批，認為官方專程為網紅與受邀主播提供完美的限定超夢，對多年來勤勞抓寶甚至自費千里跋涉參加 Go Fest 活動卻無法獲得完美數值寶可夢的玩家相當不公平。
雖然部分人士跳出來為官方解釋，指出這些社群大使與實況主長年以來協助維繫與推廣區域社群運作，獲得這樣的獎勵其實並不過分，且時代廣場確實因為場地與安全考量而無法接納全球數百萬名玩家，不過這個說法並沒辦法平息玩家被邊緣化的剝奪感。

許多知名的《Pokémon GO》創作者後續也陸續發聲，像是 Caleb Peng 就表示他雖然沒有親自到場，但他透露受邀的創作者們在事前完全不知道這項活動獎勵，也呼籲大家不要將仇恨轉嫁到創作者身上，因為任何人面對獲得這隻特殊的限定超夢都會感到興奮。
另一位受邀出席的創作者 Alex Nexton 也證實，當天的活動充滿各種驚喜，現場的人直到獎勵發放的當下才得知這份禮物的存在，內心都是感到相當震驚的。
