歐美知名實況主 Asmongold 近日再度因為對遊戲中的女性角色的爭議發言，在社群上掀起了激烈論戰。事件起因主要是在推特的一段約 5 分鐘的直播精華，影片中 Asmongold 針對由 The Coalition 工作室開發的射擊遊戲新作《戰爭機器：事變日》發表了看法。
他直言該作品已淪為了某種愚蠢的女性主義權力幻想，甚至大膽預測該開發團隊未來將會面臨大幅裁員乃至工作室倒閉的命運。

這次的言論爭議也因 Asmongold 針對該剪輯影片進行回覆而徹底一發不可收拾！Asmongold 直接向開發者提議，呼籲製作團隊除非女性角色的定位是純粹的視覺享受或花瓶外，應該全面停止在射擊遊戲中加入女性角色。
他認為會遊玩這類射擊遊戲的男性玩家普遍都不想被男性化且過於霸道的女主管角色頤指氣使，這類人物的設定不僅無法迎合任何人，反而會讓大多數的受眾反感甚至勸退。也因為這段留言，湧入了大量玩家與業內人士進行抨擊，指責 Asmongold 的個人偏見並不能代表全體玩家。

面對網友的指責和抨擊，Asmongold 並未退縮或道歉，而是在後續的實況中正面迎擊各種反對意見。他在直播中指責這些批評者除了人身攻擊外完全拿不出具體的反駁論點，並再次堅持自己的觀點，主張電子遊戲本質上就是為男性玩家群體打造的。
他直言，如果遊戲開發者不認同這項觀點，當然完全有自由去開發任何自認理想的作品，但最終在商業市場上注定會走向失敗。過程中他也試圖區分角色外型設計的邏輯，強調將角色性化與刻意將角色設計得毫無吸引力完全是兩碼子事。
